Job Description:

​Sigmatech, Inc. is seeking a Senior Architecture and Space Support SME for its customer site in Arlington, VA.  This position will support the Principal Assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force for Space (SAF/SP). SAF/SP has overall responsibility for space policy, issue integration, and strategy for the Department of the Air Force (AF); this office also provides the principal support to the Secretary of the Air Force (SecAF) on space matters and coordinates activities across the AF space enterprise.  The SAF/SP prepares policies for approval and issues official guidance/procedures via official AF publications to ensure implementation of those policies. This office provides the principal support for the SAF/SP’s role as the Headquarters Air Force (HAF) focal point for space matters and in coordinating activities across the AF space enterprise.
Responsibilities:  
Provide Subject Matter Expertise on the space and space support assets and global architecture.
Draft and review DoD and National-level space policy.
Review and assess warfighter requirements flowing through the Air Force and Joint requirements process.
Review and assess acquisition documentation to support the procurement of articles contributing to global space support.
Facilitate and support the development of executable architectures and plans for implementation to influence and guide planning and requirements, programming, budgeting and execution.
Provide technical analysis of issues arising during POM, PBR cycles supporting DABs, DSCs, DMAGs.
Support planning, scheduling, leading and executing cross-cleared and multi organizational space control/counter-space threat Technical Exchange Meetings, Integrated Product Teams/working groups.

Experience and Skills:

Required Skills: 
Detailed knowledge and familiarity with current Defense Department efforts with space and launch/range assets and/or worldwide systems.
Significant experience in Engineering, Scientific, Analysis, or Intelligence related to NSS Space.
15+ years' experience in or directly supporting DoD, i.e. NASIC, DIA, ONI, or NRO technical intelligence analysis, space operations, or acquisition.
Demonstrated understanding of Space enterprise to include DoD requirements, acquisition, and budgeting processes and applicable National Security Space (NSS) guidance and policy.
Demonstrated initiative and ability to plan, work and deliver independently.
Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, oral presentation and executive writing skills.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with Defense Space and National Security Space in the areas of strategy, requirements, capabilities, architectures, programs, acquisition, and operations.
Familiarity with civil, commercial and international space capabilities as they pertain to space and space support systems
Experience supporting OSD, Service HQ or DoD Agency or IC staffs.
Experience with DoD, AFSPC, SMC, NRO, USDI, FAA.
Required Experience:
Master's Degree or Equivalent, plus 20-25 years applicable experience in an Engineering, Scientific, or Analysis field related to Defense and/or IC Space.
US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for the position
Preferred Experience:
Master's degree in Space Systems Engineering or a related field
20+ years' experience in an operations, engineering, scientific, analysis, policy or planning field related to Defense Space
HQ AF/SAF staff experience within the past 3 years
Department of Commerce experience
Familiarity with TMT and/or or other HQ staffing tool
