Job Description:

  • Perform Operations Research and/or Modeling and Simulation analysis of space and threat systems.
  • Validate/evaluate inputs and results of analysis of National Security Space Systems Architectures.
  • Coordinate analytic efforts with internal and external stakeholders (STRATCOM/JSWF, AF/A9, etc.).
  • Develop and execute analysis plans in support of mission area architecture development, capabilities-based assessments, and architecture maintenance. Analysis includes, but is not limited to: performance, risk, cost, utility, and technical analyses of space systems, mission concepts, system of systems concepts, mission area plans, system requirements, system and technical roadmaps, the industrial base, capability gaps, and trade studies; integration and evaluation of system of systems candidates to ensure total enterprise performance across national, DoD, IC, civil, and industrial communities; quantification of the cross-community impact of adding or deleting capabilities from existing constellation and point design solutions; threat/scenario/operating environment development and evaluation; definition of quantifiable metrics, measures of performance and measures of effectiveness.
  • Develop unique, tailored analysis methodologies and frameworks to perform analysis and assessments on a wide range of Enterprise areas to include, but not limited to, Space Control / Space Protection, Communications and Relay, ISR, and PNT
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis with the use of systems engineering techniques and modeling & simulation hardware/software as available.

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent, plus 10 -15 yrs applicable experience in an Engineering, Scientific, or Analysis field related to Defense Space.
  • Significant experience in space systems Modelling and Simulations and Operations Research.
  • Experience with analysis, modeling & simulation methodologies, tools, and techniques - specifically STK, Matlab and Visual Basic for Applications.
  • Demonstrated understanding of National Security Space enterprise and orbital mechanics.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to plan, work, and deliver independently.
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, organizational, oral presentation, and writing skills.
