Job Description:

  • Provide subject matter expertise of national security space policy, strategy, international collaboration, future concepts, planning, programming, budgeting & execution (PPBE) process, enterprise engineering, architecture development and space acquisition.
  • Participate in and support policy and planning, budget, and architecture development related activities.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to support cross-divisional efforts and taskings, and integrate budgeted related information into SAF/SP studies and analyses supporting unclassified, classified, and Special Technical Operations (STO) capabilities.
  • Provide SATOPS/AFSCN products in the form of information, advice, opinions, reports, alternatives, analyses, evaluations, recommendations, Information Technology (IT) tools, training, and/or services to complement the Government's expertise and to allow the Government to function more efficiently.
  • Be capable of quick response to stringent deadlines
  • Be capable of working both within a team and independently when necessary.
  • Provide SATOPS/AFSCN expertise to SAF/SP to support integration of space capabilities required to implement national strategy, policy, and guidance.
  • Provide expertise to SAF/SP to support the development of architectures supporting national strategy, policy, and guidance. These architectures are intended to explore a broad range of materiel and non-materiel solutions to enduring and potential future national security challenges and problems
  • Provide expertise to SAF/SP to conduct and support analyses and assessments.
  • Support SSAF/SP by participating in all aspects of Air Force Space Command, Air Force and DoD Requirements Processes, the Planning, Programming, and Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) processes, and other corporate processes
  • Support SAF/SP in answering congressional inquiries and questions for the record.

Experience and Skills:

  • Master's degree or equivalent plus 20-25 years applicable experience in space enterprise services
  • Work experience with DoD staffing process
  • Work experience with space programs
  • Attention to detail
  • Works well on diverse teams
  • Professional demeanor - appropriate for working with senior-level staff
